Tragicomic Variété open to hope
Synopsis
A show that looks into the soul with humor and circus, riding between the cabaret and the woman show, between poetry and comedy. A reading of a character full of surprises who does not respond to any demand.
Welcome to Seriously Tragicomedy!
Plot
It is the story of Godotte and two musicians who go with him along his way. The show is built on sketches and a variety of songs and poetry, blues and jazz with instrumental timbres of baritone saxophone, high saxophone, piano, clarinet percussion and voice.
There are childhood stories and texts from authors such as Koltés or Baricco. A collage of internal conflicts that shows us what Yukali stands for: an imaginary world that we all have deep down. A place we must learn to open up and enjoy.
A show full of poetry which reminds us of Bekett, between absurdity and reality, between the human and the symbolic world.Inspired with the research of the essence in the natives of the Amazon, in wild nature then destroyed. "A Glance at Yukali" is food-for-thought about us and the Earth.
Characters
Godotte is an extravagant character, a woman who came out of the blue, convinced that one day the sky will fall down on everything and nobody will notice it. Because of that, she wears a blue helmet, soldering glasses to prevent her eyes from burning, an enormous coat and huge shoes. She is the result of social weight and war though she is bit clumsy too. She drags a piece of what remains of the dying jungle of the Amazon.Through the songs and the poetry she goes out of her shell and steps forward to the audience as Casiopea, the wild girl who was hidden behind the character. She invites the public to follow her in the research of Yukali. Eventually, she is forced to step back and protect herself.
The piano player is the teacher and the percussionist is the organic heart that lead her in her research journey.
Space: Do you know Yukali?
It can be adapted to different spaces. The Italian style performance has a very powerful stage design since lightning builds up the choreography. It is also possible to perform in theater cafés with a cabaret style, show dinners, or outdoors in local celebrations (preferably at night).
